Amics, músics i admiradors es reuneixen al voltant d'una foguera per recordar Joe Strummer en un ambiciós documental signat pel realitzador Julien Temple ("The great rock'n'roll swindle", "The filth and the fury", "Glastonbury"...). La primera part (vídeos de l'1 a 8), es remunta a la infància de Strummer, explica els seus inicis musicals amb els 101'ers i mostra el naixement de la banda que el va fer cèlebre, The Clash. La segona part (vídeos 4 a 8) del retrat de Joe Strummer, arrenca l'any 1979, quan The Clash, després de triomfar al Regne Unit, van per primera vegada als Estat Units. L'èxit mundial de la banda, la seva separació i la posterior carrera en solitari de Strummer (! la relació amb el cinema, els anys amb The Mescaleros) són els episodis que cobreix la segona part del documental de Temple.
